LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven field hockey team battled Georgetown through two scoreless quarters before the Hoyas broke through in the second half, eventually earning a 6-0 victory Sunday afternoon at Charlotte E. Smith Field.

The Bald Eagles (1-2) and Hoyas (2-2) entered halftime deadlocked at 0-0 after a defensive battle over the opening 30 minutes.

Georgetown opened the scoring early in the third quarter when Caroline Suko found the cage at the 32:18 mark, giving the Hoyas a 1-0 advantage.

The Hoyas added two more goals late in the third quarter to take a 3-0 lead heading into the final period. 

Georgetown continued its offensive pressure in the fourth quarter, scoring three times to close out the contest. 

Lock Haven goalkeeper Quinty van Luijk turned in a strong performance despite the final score, making 10 saves across 54:23 of action. Sophie Owens finished the contest in goal for the Bald Eagles, recording one save.

Maddie Friend registered Lock Haven's lone shot of the afternoon, putting it on target.
