SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Lock women's soccer team dropped a 6-1 road decision to Slippery Rock on Sunday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action.
Slippery Rock (1-1, 1-0 PSAC West) scored four first-half goals and added two more in the second half to secure the conference victory. Lock Haven moved to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in PSAC West play.
The Rock controlled the opening half, outshooting Lock Haven 20-1 and taking a 4-0 advantage into halftime.
Lock Haven responded early in the second half. Senior forward
Maci Shaffer found the back of the net in the 58th minute, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
Allie Green recorded the assist on Shaffer's goal.
Slippery Rock added late goals in the 78th and 87th minute to account for the final score.
Shaffer led Lock Haven offensively with two shots, both on goal, while
Colleen Lloyd added two shots and one shot on target.
Bryn Constanzer also placed her lone shot on frame.
Goalkeeper
Devon Mason recorded four saves while playing all 90 minutes for the Bald Eagles.

The Bald Eagles return home for the first time this season and will host Charleston in a non-conference game at 1 p.m. at Hubert Jack Stadium on Wednesday (Sept. 2).
