EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Lock Haven softball team was edged in a pair of 2-1 outcomes at East Stroudsburg on Sunday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East doubleheader.

Lock Haven moves to 26-20 on the season and 16-14 in the PSAC East. The Haven remains in fourth place in the Eastern Division postseason chase, with the top-5 school clinching a berth to the PSAC Championship Tournament.

ESU is now 30-16 overall and 18-10 in conference play, good enough for third place.

Game 1: East Stroudsburg 2, Lock Haven 1
Game one featured a pitcher's dual that needed eight innings to decide a winner.

Lock Haven led 1-0 after four innings thanks to a sacrifice fly by
Faith Persing (RBI), but ESU evened the score in the bottom of the sixth before heading into extras.
Â
In the bottom of the eighth, ESU drove in the game-winning run with a single to left to secure the walk-off win.
Â
Keiva Middleton went 5.1 innings and allowed just one run on three hits, while striking out a pair.
Talia Ross pitched the final 2.1 innings in relief and didn't allow a run until the walk-off single by ESU in the bottom of the eighth.

On offense, four different Bald Eagles recorded hits.

Game 2: East Stroudsburg 2, Lock Haven 1
Game two featured another low scoring affair with ESU pulling out another 2-1 victory.

ESU struck for two runs in the bottom of the fourth and Lock Haven finally answered with a solo run off an RBI-single from
Madison Hardy in the top of the sixth.

However, East Stroudsburg closed out the final inning to secure the sweep.

Ross got the start in game two and went six innings, while allowing two runs on a game-low three hits, while striking out three.

Blaire Balestrini led The Haven with a pair of hits, while Hardy drove in the lone run.

The Bald Eagles return home to host Slippery Rock on Tuesday, April 28 for a 2 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.
