Women’s Track & Field opens outdoor season at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational; Earns six PSAC qualifying marks

The Bald Eagles open their outdoor season strong at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational by earning six PSAC qualifying marks.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Lock Haven women's track and field team opened the outdoor season this weekend at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
 
The Bald Eagles earned six Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship qualifying marks.
 
Defending PSAC Champion in the 800m Nicole Caroll earned her way back to the event by finishing in 2:17.39.

Three Bald Eagles qualified in the Javelin Throw. Olivia Spotts earned third place by reaching a mark of 136-10 (41.71m). Ava Komorowski finished sixth with a mark of 132-10 (40.50m) and Maria Puglia took eighth (128-09, 39.25m).

Clarissa Davis earned a PSAC Qualifier in the Shot Put. Davis reached a mark of 40-09.75 (12.44m)

The 4x200m relay team of Lillian Bradley, Alexanne Fite, Makayla Grace Weber and Elizabeth Shultz finished the race in 1:46.19, marking the second fastest time in Lock Haven program history.

Weber earned a PSAC qualifier in the 400m Hurdles by finishing in 1:05.07 and took sixth.

Shultz and Fite came extremely close to reaching the PSAC qualifying mark of 59.40 in the 400m. Shultz finished in 59.84 and Fite finished in 59.90.

Kaydence Strange was one one-hundredth away from qualifying in the 3000m Steeplechase. Strange finished in the event in 12:02.01.

Samantha Trench nearly achieved PSAC qualifiers in both the 100m Hurdles (15.71) and in the High Jump (5-02.25).

Paige Watson took second place in the 10000m by finishing in 41:23.40, Adra Schell took fifth (42:27.40) and Addison Farrer took sixth (42:46.24).

Kelci Carle took first in the 400m (Open) with a time of 1:02.54.
 
Freshman Alannah Irwin competed in her first outdoor Heptathlon and scored 3209 points.

Next Up:
The Lock Haven women's outdoor track and field team will compete again on Friday (March 27) and Saturday (March 28) at the Jim Taylor Duals at Susquehanna University.
