DAVIDSON, N.C. - Â Senior
Melanie Beall scored her 12th goal of the season but it wasn't enough as the Lock Haven (5-12, 0-6 A-10) field hockey team fell by a 7-1 score to Davidson (10-9, 2-4 A-10) on Friday evening in an Atlantic 10 road contest.
The Bald Eagles earned a penalty corner in the 45th minute and Beall capitalized. Junior
Maddie Friend dished out the assist as Beall hit an even dozen goals on the year as a part of a four-shot evening.
Â
Lock Haven outshot Davidson 8-5 in the first half, but couldn't find the back of the cage as the Wildcats took a three goal lead at the intermission.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Quinty van Luijk made 13 saves on 20 shots faced, including six in the third quarter. On the season, van Luijk has 146 saves which puts her just outside of the top 10 on the Lock Haven single season charts with one game left to play.
