Women’s Swimming takes down Penn State Altoona on Senior Day

Lock Haven Women’s Swimming picked up a 150-104 victory at home over Penn State Altoona on Saturday (Nov. 15)

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven Women's Swimming team downed Penn State Altoona 150-104 on Saturday morning (Nov. 15). The Bald Eagles won nine of the 14 events on the day. Before the meet, Lock Haven honored lone senior Jackelin Sanchez as part of its Senior Day.
 
The win improves the Bald Eagles' record to 3-3.
 
Jadyn Oswalt paced Lock Haven by winning three individual events. Oswalt won the 500-yard free, finishing in 5:31.28, the 200-yard free (2:05.97) and the 1000-yard free (11:35.71).
 
Kate MacAlister had another strong performance, taking first in the 100-yard fly (1:01.58) and the 200-yard fly (2:27.02). MacAlister picked up a second-place finish in the 100-yard back (1:10.16).
 
Veronica Karboski also took home multiple first-place finishes for Lock Haven, the first came in the 50-yard free (25.92), followed by the 100-yard free (57.71).
 
Lock Haven won the 200-yard free relay (1:46.98) and the 200-yard medley relay (2:00.65).
 
Madison Bortner (200-yard IM, 200-yard free and 1,000-yard free), MaryAlice Craig (100-yard fly), Gianna Gruska (50-yard free, 100-yard breast, and 100-yard free), Alexis Fraundorfer (200-yard breast) and Nora Craig (200 yard-back) all picked up second-place finishes today.

Next Up:
The Bald Eagles will head to Scranton, Pa., on Friday (Nov. 21) for the first day of the Electric City Invitational.
